Foundry Engineering studio Est. MMXXIV

An engineering studio for AI-shaped products.

We design, build, and operate mobile applications, custom AI automations, and senior-led consulting engagements for operators who can't afford another half-shipped quarter.

01Disciplines

Three things we do, and very little else.

Every Foundry engagement is one of three shapes. We turn down work that doesn't fit. The shape determines team, cadence, and scope; everything else is tailored.

01 native iOS · android · cross-stack

Mobile applications.

Native iOS and Android applications. Swift, Kotlin, and React Native — chosen based on what the project actually needs, not on what's fashionable.

  • Swift & Kotlin · React Native · Expo
  • Design system, motion, App Store submission
  • Observability, crash budgets, SLAs in-writing
Mobile applications
02 agents · pipelines · evals

AI automation.

Custom agentic workflows on Claude, GPT-5, and open-weights. Document pipelines, sales co-pilots, internal copilots, and the evals that keep them honest in production.

  • Document & intake pipelines
  • Internal & client-facing copilots
  • Eval harnesses, drift monitoring
  • Cost & latency engineering
03 diagnostic · embedded · retainer

Custom consulting.

Diagnostic engagements for teams about to commit to a roadmap. Embedded principal engineering when an internal team is one senior shy of shipping. Retainers for AI strategy and model upgrades.

02Approach

How a Foundry project actually goes.

Four phases, in order. We tell you which phase you're in, what's done, and what's slipping — in writing.

  1. P / 0

    Discovery

A half-day onsite (or remote workshop), technical diligence on the stack and team, and a written diagnostic. Fixed fee. You can stop here and still own the artefact.

  2. P / 1

    Build

Production codebase from the start — no "throwaway" branches that quietly become the system. Regular demos, with the principal on the keyboard.

  3. P / 2

    Launch & harden

Production rollout, monitoring, runbooks, and a written handover that a third-party engineering team could pick up cold. We do not leave a project less explicable than we found it.

  4. P / 3

    Operate

An ongoing retainer for evals, model upgrades, cost work, and the small features that keep a product honest. Optional.

03Selected work

Three engagements we can talk about.

Roughly half of Foundry's work is under NDA. These three were chosen because the clients agreed to be named and the numbers held up under audit.

Underwriting · regional insurer

Mistwood Atlas

We replaced a twelve-year underwriting workflow in nine weeks.

A regional insurer in Hartford was spending eleven days quoting commercial property risk. We rebuilt the intake-to-bind pipeline as a Claude-driven workflow with a thin internal iPad app for adjusters in the field.

  • 47.2%reduction in time-to-quote
  • $1.4Mannualised cost saving, year 1
  • 0.038sp95 model latency
Patient mobile · chronic care

Halcyon Health

An iOS app for a chronic-care network of 184 clinics.

Halcyon needed a patient-facing iOS app that nurses, not engineers, could maintain. We built a Swift client, a CMS for care-plan authoring, and a HIPAA-aligned data layer the internal team has owned since week eleven.

  • 11,284MAU at month four
  • 4.78App Store rating, 612 reviews
  • 92.6%nurse-authored care plans
Internal copilot · private credit

Daedalus Group

An internal copilot for back-office operations at a $4.2B private-credit fund.

Daedalus was reading 1,800 borrower documents a quarter, by hand. We shipped an internal copilot in six weeks that drafts the first pass, surfaces flags, and routes exceptions to the analyst best placed to clear them.

  • 78.4%analyst-time recovered
  • 1,824docs / quarter, automated first pass
  • $0.0042cost / call, p50
  • 14 wkscontracted, shipped in 6

04From the operators

Foundry is the only studio where the principal who scoped the engagement also wrote the production code. We shipped in nine weeks what our internal team had estimated at fourteen months.
